Join Fednav’s two-year Shipping Trainee Program to kickstart a successful career with strong foundations that will develop you to think like our customers, operate with purpose and innovate with commercial impact. Participating in Fednav’s Shipping Trainee program will equip you with robust theoretical training from the renowned Danish Shipping Academy in Copenhagen, and hands-on training through a rotation in our vessel operations and commercial teams with key mentors.
- Theoretical training: includes courses (4 separate weeks) in Denmark where you collaborate in-person with other trainees from all around the world creating a vast professional network. Between these on-site courses, you will undergo online training covering topics such as maritime law, economics, negotiation technique and cultural knowledge.
- On-the-job training: first year assignment will take place in our vessel operations team in our Antwerp (Belgium) office. Second year TBA, but in Antwerp or Hamburg.
Start date of the program: Early September 2025 (flexibility to start earlier during the summer)
Location: Antwerp, (Belgium) Office
Compensation: In addition to covering for the tuition fees to the Danish Education Program, Fednav will also pay for travel when necessary. This position also offers a competitive package including salary and benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Recently completed a secondary education, HHX or bachelor’s degree
- Intellectually curious and open-minded, searching to constantly surpass yourself
- Business mindset, relationship builder with natural social skills
- Thriving in a dynamic team-work environment
- Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing
- Legally authorized to work in Europe and available to travel

- International experience through study, work or other
- Extracurricular experiences (such as team sports, school association, case competition and projects, etc)
- Prior work experience onboard or related to navigation/ships
