As a Shipping Trainee at M.H Simonsen the door to an exciting international shipping career is open. They offer you a Trainee program, where you will become a part of a strong team in the chartering department where they work hard to fulfill their customers requests and at the same time enjoy an informal family-like work atmosphere while you get to learn from the representatives of the chartering department.

It is a two-year Trainee program where you will be a part of Danish shipping, “Shipping Trainee program” and you will combine your education with practical training from the office and onboard experience.

Expected start of employment is September 1, 2024.

You will be working from their office, located in the Danish maritime city Svendborg on Funen. In the positions as Shipping Trainee, you will referrer directly to General Manager Chartering.

The Job

M.H. Simonsen is looking for a Trainee who is eager to learn about the many areas of shipping. You are an efficient, meticulous, and humorous person who will enjoy working in an international shipping environment and complete every tasks neatly and timely. You like to be challenged daily and providing the customer with a high-level service.

Additional responsibilities:

• Help identify suitable vessels for transporting cargo
• Assisting with coordinating vessels journey and monitoring vessel performance
• Day-to-day operations of vessels activities

Professional competencies required for this role:

• You have completed HHX / STX or similar relevant education
• Familiar with IT especially the MS Office package

Personal qualifications they are looking for:

• Good at collaboration
• Willing to travel
• Communication skills in Danish and in English
• Be able to attend office in Svenborg
